Dearest Followers,

I must apologize for my earlier post saying the Hunger Games was childish and poorly written. After actually reading the first book (and the majority of the second, I just put my Kindle down for a minute to check the social networks), I must say it is deeply engrossing and well written. The plot is predictable and the language used is simple to understand, but by no means are those traits bad.

I still find it odd to read YA books after swearing off of them sometime Freshmen year of high school. It’s comforting to know that there still exists quality literature (if not to the level of Ms. Rand or Mr. Orwell) for a younger audience, however, I still feel childish and immature for enjoying them. But, all things considered, I haven’t really enjoyed reading a book in a long time (save for Neuromancer, which I read in the span of a day when I first got my Kindle and realized I could basically get any book I wanted for free), and if this is what it takes to get me back to the book a week state I was in back in high school, then I welcome it.
